FAQ

Questions people ask us.

If yours is not here, call and ask.

Working with us

The basics

What does your help cost?

Nothing. Carriers pay us a commission when you enroll. Your premium is the same whether you enroll through us or directly with the carrier.

Are you an insurance company?

No. We are a licensed insurance agency. We represent multiple carriers and compare their plans for you. The policy is issued by the carrier.

What happens after I submit the form?

A licensed agent calls you, usually the same business day. One call is enough to compare plans and, if you want, enroll.

Will I be pressured?

No. You hear your options with the monthly cost and the out-of-pocket cost of each. If none fit, we say so.

What states do you serve?

We have licensed agents in all 50 states. Plan availability still depends on your county, so tell us your ZIP code on the call.

Do you have agents who speak Spanish?

Yes. Ask for a Spanish-speaking agent when you call, or say so in the notes on the form.

Medicare

Medicare

When can I change my Medicare plan?

Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7. Medicare Advantage members also get January 1 to March 31. Moving, losing coverage, and a few other events open special windows.

Advantage or Supplement?

Advantage plans have low premiums and a network. Supplement plans cost more per month and let you see any doctor that takes Medicare. We walk through both with your doctors and prescriptions in hand.

Will my doctor be in the plan?

We check before you enroll. Networks change every year, which is one reason to review the plan each fall even if you are happy with it.

Health insurance

Health insurance and HealthShare

Do I qualify for a subsidy?

Most households do. The amount depends on your household size and income. We estimate yours before quoting so you see the real monthly cost.

I missed open enrollment. Can I still get a plan?

If you had a qualifying event in the last 60 days, yes. Otherwise short-term medical or a HealthShare membership can bridge the gap until the next window.

Is a HealthShare plan insurance?

No. It is a membership in a health care sharing ministry. It can cost far less than an unsubsidized plan, but it is not regulated as insurance and does not guarantee payment. We compare it against a marketplace plan before you decide.

Life insurance

Life insurance

Do I need a medical exam for life insurance?

Not for final expense, most whole life, and many term policies. A few health questions on the phone are usually all it takes.

I have health problems. Can I still get coverage?

Almost always. Different carriers rate the same condition differently, and guaranteed issue plans accept everyone in the age range.
